If anyone remembers Luka, he and about five other guys are prisoners of some guerrilla group. They're in the back of a truck, hands tied above their hands. A soldier steps out of a tent, zipping up, with two others following and dragging a woman behind, dropping her just outside. They get to the truck, pull a random guy out, drag him inside the tent, and after just a couple of seconds, we hear a shot. Next, they're all pulled out of the truck, and put on their knees a couple of yards away from the tent, where they're stripped of shoes and other valuables. Another guy is dragged to the tent and executed. Luka talks to another guy, a geologist, about his (Luka's) loss of faith, when his children were killed, and how he found it was hard to feel the Almighty in that situation. One of them, also a doctor, starts telling them they're doctors, that they're there to help, and in French, so they understood. He gets executed in the head right next to Luka. The geologist gets dragged to the tent next, and is killed as well. At this point, Luka is just waiting for his turn, when he gets a feeling, and senses something in the breeze, and the sun. He stands upright on his knees, and starts praying in Italian, I think. One of the soldiers looks at him, surprised. He thinks Luka is a priest and yells to the others, "He's a priest!". The "chief" walks up to him, finds a crucifix around his neck and starts asking him "Are you a priest?! Are you a priest?!" Luka is pretty much outside these events and immersed in his praying. The woman near the tent screams "Yes! He's a priest! You can't kill a man of God!". The soldiers kneel around Luka saying "Please bless us, priest."
Luka got saved, of course. This scene set off a few emotions in me, mainly because of some great acting and an adagio for strings when Luka was "feeling it". Notice the unbiased description of the scene.
