Well, hello I guess.

To begin with, I'm a thirteen year-old. Don't let that stop debating, though. For a "kid", I've got a pretty strong opinion on things.

When I was randomly googling up a debate forum, I found this. So, I guess thats all :)

Welcome

When I was a kid, I had strong opinions. I wish I knew now what I thought I knew then. ;)

Age is but a number bro, knowledge has no number. If you feel your thoughts and ideas are strong, by all means put them on the table. You may well bring more knowledge than some of the older theists we have here. Give it a try, if you don't feel comfortable, you can still read and learn.

Lol, I suppose so.

I believe my thoughts and ideas are strong, though my writing style has yet to mature :| .

I wouldn't really worry about it too much. Just stick to key points, keep your age posted, and you'll do fine. And try not to make any too direct comments, lol, or they might stop acknowledging you. I'm still waiting.

Welcome Brian,

Between us we average 40 -- so I'll lend you a few years. You sound "much older than your years". I was also, and rejected religion at age eight after catching religious "leaders" in deliberate lies and concluding, "If they will lie to me about the little things, they will lie to be about the big things".

Some here will demean your ideas citing your age, but their real reason may be a feeling of being threatened by a thoughtful and assertive young person. You may be counseled to be "humble" -- but don't fall for that.

There are other young people posting here, judging from some things said. Even though people may not specify their age, some comments can give an indication. Some of us are "old farts" chronologically (but we are not obligated to worship the calendar any more than we are obligated to worship invisible super beings up in the sky).

Are you familiar with the carpenter's saying, "Measure twice, cut once"? It pays to use a modification of that idea here, "Write twice, post once". In other words, think deeply before posting. I prefer to compose in Word to allow for efficient revision and spell-check, and to avoid the possibility of losing a writing to Internet glitches and gremlins. That also gives me a record on hard drive of what I have written -- and most important, it causes me to think about what I have said.

Again, welcome, don’t be intimidated, express your ideas, learn what you wish.
