Why not be Catholic?

What is the most important reason that you do not want to be Catholic? Maybe Catholics can join this chat with a most important reason that they are Catholic.

That is exactly what I and others have been doing, both on this site and in other circumstances. It appears to have as much worth as Catholicism.

Notice that this is a DEBATE site, not a preaching or advertising site. Inviting people to read your preferred religious promotional literature is NOT debate.

Can you offer any evidence that Islam is any more "true" than Christianity or Hinduism or Buddhism or any of the thousands of different, competing religions?

Those who worship the thousands of different gods seem to be of the opinion that their favorite gods and worship practices are "right" and everyone else's are "falsified". What makes your claims any more credible than anyone else's? Many point to a "holy" book as evidence but no book can be demonstrated to be "the word of god" (regardless of claims and beliefs to the contrary).

ANY of the thousands of "gods" proposed, imagined, worshiped, loved, feared, and/or fought over by humans MAY exist -- awaiting verifiable evidence

As a Christian, I didn't agree with Catholisism because it involves a lot of non-biblical religious ritual. Things like rosary beads, confessionals and putting Mary on a pedistal was all wrong from my POV. It also seems so boring. Give me a modern Christian church any day!

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
