Greetings to DC community

Post by Ashman »

Hello everyone, I've been perusing the DC forums for a few days and have found it delightful. I hope to contribute many ideas in the spirit of equitable debate/conversation.

First relevant matter I guess would be my POV & background:

My family traditions center on Christianity (non-denominationally), however, I consciously departed from that religion in early adolescence.
I am generally interested in the beliefs and perspectives of others.
I cannot pinpoint my personal religious beliefs (if any), but have many biases related to cosmology, theology, mysticism, metaphysics, mythology etc...
My interests include various forms of:
Anthropology, sociology, many sciences, physics, many technologies, philosophy, ad nauseum...

A favorite writer of mine (Einstein), as I remember his meaning, wrote that Truth itself may not be as important as the process of seeking it.

I think that perhaps there are many truths subjective and relative, perhaps our greatest task is to determine the absolutes and reconcile our subjective experiences with them.

Many thanks to everyones kind and generous welcome(s)!

Fallibleone, I couldn't PM a special thanks due to the 5 post requirement.

A lot of consideration should be given on my part to contributing/maintaining a usergroup fork. For the time being I will keep it in mind, in the future and given the inspiration I am sure that I could propose a unique and valuable usergroup to the DC community.

Look out world, I will have internet at home tomorrow. No more deducting work hours for internet play. :)

.
Welcome to the forum Ashman.

I wouldn't worry about fitting in or not fitting in. Sometimes it is better to not.
