Re: What do atheist do on Sunday's
Post #13Already answered in a number of snarky and clever ways, Sunday is just another day for me, and luckily it is a weekend so I do tend to sleep in. When I was a Catholic I used to go every Sunday to church until about 14, when I started, what's that word?juber3 wrote:Hey i have a simple question What do atheist do on Sunday's ? Doubting. Would periodically have to attend mass because I was in Catholic school until 17 - but by then I was transitioning to deism and agnosticism. By College I was spiritual but a closet atheist.
BTW, it may have already been addressed, but Sunday is not just another day to atheists, but Jews and Seven Day Adventists as well. Just wanted to point that out.
Your question doesn't bother me in the slightest, I like it when theists ask about atheism, it implies curiosity. Some theists claim we don't exist because we can't possibly not believe in God and some just outright attack us based on all kinds of wild accusations (like atheism leading to the holocaust).

Isn’t this enough? Just this world?
Just this beautiful, complex, wonderfully unfathomable natural world?
How does it so fail to hold our attention
That we have to diminish it with the invention
Of cheap, man-made Myths and Monsters?

Post #16Today is Monday. Yesterday (Sunday) I built some shelves in our laundry room (laundry closet might be a more apt description), planned some changes to our son's room, did some Christmas shopping, swept and vacuumed, cleaned the kitty litter, read the newspaper, made some sauce bolognaise ...juber3 wrote:Hey i have a simple question What do atheist do on Sunday's ? Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Am I allowed to be a member of Asatru? I'm 100% atheist...but I love Norse godsCoyotero wrote:Not an atheist, but I usually spend Sunday nursing the hangover from Saturday night's religious gathering.

An atheist Asatruar? I guess so. There's atheist Jews, seems to work okay for them. The Gods don't demand or enforce any specific belief in them, so I suppose it could work.handofnergal wrote:Am I allowed to be a member of Asatru?
