I agree completely and you make an important observation that I had not completely considered.

My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Excellent point:
"Well, fine........if that is made up and bogus......and its in the word of God...........then what else is bogus?"
Apologists gloss over this, refuse to address it, duck and weave. A truthful answer is that no one knows what parts of the Bible are truthful and accurate vs. parts that are not.

You present a reasonable approach to the Bible.
If we distilled the wisdom contained (without embellishments / fluff) could it be presented in one page or perhaps two?

Wise man. Some European / Russian leaders agree.

One token for reading acuity
"So your way of down regulating your naturally violent primate impulses is better because . . . well . . . it’s not religious?
Perhaps it’s different, but it’s not better. You just assert it is."
Read again -- very, very carefully -- my statement that you quoted. Try to find the word (or "assertion") BETTER. When you don't find either, recognize that in your haste to dispute my position you have invented what was not said.
