Site got hacked

The site experienced its first major hack this morning around 7 AM (EST). All the posts got corrupted and forum settings were modified. I have restored the site to the last monthly backup. So, unfortunately, all posts and new members since Aug 9 are lost. I'm currently trying to figure out how the hacker got in. In the meantime, the site might continue to experience problems until a patch is done.

It's a real shame that this site got hacked. It's repeating Flail's sentiment, but of all the forums that I've been on this one has been the best at provoking thought.

One thing I know is, theist or non-, this guy is one sick wookie.

I haven't been here in a while (and not much before that...), but I got the same email. Ironically, I'm in the process of changing to a new email address b/c I've been getting spam on the email I use on this forum due to putting my email on a bad site. Just yesterday I was about to change the email on this account but was distracted.

But by the grace of God, eh?

Serrious Problem

I just recived an e-mail from what I think is your official email (forum@debatingchristianity.com)
Called "cyber-nigger pwnz you all".

Apparently, the recent hacker got emails and is still able to access the site. I have not opened the email, of course, since enough harm has been done already and such an email is sure to contain unwanted garbage.

Sorry about the spam email. But, it looks like the site is still under attack. I've contacted my hosting provider to see if they can assist.

As sad as it might be, perhaps it would be prudent to shut the site down until you guys can find the hole this rat is using to sabotage us.

This is kind of funny in a strange way. I guess they (not sure if it's one person or more than one person) got bored of Habbo Hotel and such. I don't see why they'd bother attacking this site and I'm surprised they did.

That said, cyber-nigg3r, could you please leave this site alone? It's kind of pointless and all it does is annoy the administrators and the other members. It's only really funny when it's people like Hal Turner, not when it's just an annoyance to everyone.

Boy, the fun never ceases.

The forum was taken down again by the hacker. And he is no amateur. But, I've got the site back up. For now at least.

Some functionality though are broken - PM, Profile, and some other stuff. But, I think posting is OK.

I've deleted some trojans the hacker left around. But, I have a feeling we're not going to be left alone by him though.
