I dodged me a bullet there. Atheism has its benefits.azmo wrote:BDSM is.. porn.
Porn is not allowed for christians.
I've actually had a chick tell me to "rape" her. I complied, but dang if it wasn't all goofy. I've had other situations where a chick likes to get tied up. I aim to please.azmo wrote: Also, it is forcing someone to have sex, and hurting someone.
What if the only way she'll let you try to practice getting them children is to spank her?Sex is to get children, not to spank someone for hours.
I might be Teddy Roosevelt, but I ain't.

That must be difficult.
'Tain't. In my time I've had some pretty unorthodox sexual relations, and all were consensual.azmo wrote:Also, it is forcing someone to have sex, and hurting someone.
I can only manage about twenty minutes, my hand gets sore then.azmo wrote:Sex is to get children, not to spank someone for hours.
Seriously, though. Sex wouldn't give us so many endorphins if it was only for reproduction; ask a dolphin, they know what it's for.

Neither my brain nor little slopeshoulder can associate sex with violence, real or impied, mild or not so mild.
But I know an M.Div./Ph.D. who spoke about her experience of bdsm in terms of increased trust, availability, and vulnerability, as a special form of intimacy.
And one of the most intelligent, lady-like, repressed, warm, and nice women with whom I have ever found myself horizontal once called out 'rape me' (31 years ago). I did not like it one bit. But she was church people. A wonderful person.
So who knows? The mind is a complex thing.
And BTW, sex, even in christianity, isn't just for making babies! Sometimes it's for making a joyful noize boyz!

Re: bdsm
Post #6Depends entirely on the denomination and such, but I don't know of anything biblical contradicting it so long as it's completely consensual within the bounds of a married relationship. Most Christians would probably take a pass though.supervamp wrote:what r most christian opinions on people who practice bdsm.
Unless indicated otherwise what I say is opinion. (Kudos to Zzyzx for this signature).

In marriage they do, even while assuming the presence of love.
But christians don't accept...having sex just for fun.

That all depends on the brand. There are some forms of Calvinism where you might think than anything that is fun is forbidden, however, many Christians groups along the entire spectrum from the most liberal to the most biblically literal, teach and practice that sex can be done, between a husband and wife, just for the enjoyment of it. It might surprise you, for example, what was discussed at one instructional workshop for newly married couples put on by the Mennonites that my wife and I once attended.azmo wrote: But christians don't accept [...] having sex just for fun.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
