From the OP:
No. I consider any otherwise harmless act that pleases humans to be quite a moral thing indeed.Opie wrote: Is it immoral to be a dancer in lap dancing club?
No. Anyone who runs to the bar so I don't have to should be commended, along with those who facilitate such.Opie wrote: Is it immoral to be a waitress or waiter or doorman for a lap dancing club?
No. Wanting to see girls naked is a normal part of being a man.Opie wrote: Is it immoral to be a punter in a lap dancing club?

A heteronormative statement if ever I've seen one.joeyknuccione wrote:No. Wanting to see girls naked is a normal part of being a man.

The OP raises an interesting question. As a general rule, I don't consider it my business to judge what consenting adults choose to do with each other sexually. I certainly wouldn't try to make lap-dancing clubs illegal (although I'd support certain zoning laws.)
In fact, I'm libertarian enough to think that prostitution should probably be legal, never mind lapdancing--again, with the condition that we're dealing with consenting adults who choose to go into the business, and not with underage kids or sex slaves.
But back to lapdancing. My reservation is this: in my opinion, we have a moral obligation to respect the dignity of every human being, to see each human as a whole person and--to put it in religious terms--to recognize each person as the image of the divine.
Now, it may be possible for a man to respect a stranger's dignity while she's giving him a lap dance--and it may be possible for the woman giving the lap dance to respect the dignity of the stranger she's servicing . . . but I wonder how common it is. I don't think it's an ideal circumstance under which to foster such respect for another human being--that's the problem I see.

But, again, I wouldn't say that it's immoral. Consenting adults have every right to work in and patronise lap-dancing clubs.

Wanting to see girls naked is a normal part of being me.

I apologize, really, for my overgeneralizationalism.

If everyone is a consenting adult, I see nothing wrong with any of this.
