Many people have debated about this, but I have not found any conclusive
answer yet. Is masturbation sinful?

Sounds like a setup to me, create humans with the desire but then tell them its evil to act on it. Even worse if you do act upon this desire only god can forgive this sin, self perpetuation.

A crime, no. A sin yes. Many years before Brave New World was written,
Matthew wrote:Jesus ... began to teach them, saying, "... but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
This does not answer the question of whether masterbation is sinful. What if I masterbate, thinking about my wife while she is away on a business trip? What about masterbation while thinking about sex in general, not sex with a particular partner?

Yes, to a degree.
For those who are less experienced or have faced sexual abuse, this thought experiment may not work. I am sorry for you.
Think about your first kiss. No, not that one! Your first real passionate kiss; the first one that really got you going, the one that made you really want to go further, the one that made you want to dance in the street. See you can control your thoughts. By reading this you brought this particular thought to mind. Now try to get rid of it.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Why is masturbation a sin?I cannot get the logic for such an argument.
What's Gods problem in this? How is anybody affected by what a man/woman privately does inside a closed room?

What if your just thinking about a tree?

Well, put it this way. If God didn't want us to masturabate, then he wouldn't have created humans with that (thought?) in mind.
Yeah, and we would have shorter arms.

Haven't you read Genesis? God wants humans to sin. How can God show his mercy and lovingkindness to us unless we sin and fall short of his glory?
It kind of fits in with shorter arms.

I see a theme developing.

Self perpetuation, self pollination it is all the same.

Not yet. It is just a sin so far.

No one wants to control thoughts. They just want punishment.

Kinda reminds me of one of Billy Connolly's stories....

he remembered his first sexual experience as being frightening....it was dark and he was alone.

I don't remember anything about masturbation being a sin. It might be referred to as 'unclean' in some of the passages mentioned but 'unclean' might just mean 'messy'.

People were probably more funny about it in them days.

I don't see how it's a sin though. It doesn't do anybody or even oneself any harm. Isn't it actually meant to be physically beneficial in some way?

i don't think its sinful.

we are not hurting anyone

it is a scientific thing... these thoughts we have... how can it be "sinful" if it is natural feelings?

i think religion is thouroughly jipped. which is why i got out when i did.
