Your opinion on this matter has been noted. However, this is supposed to be a debate. Just stating your unsupported opinion does not cut it. What authority can you cite?

Would it be a sin to assist my wife to masturbate?

It would be even a greater sin to help your wife masturbate, as it is two people behaving immorally instead of just one.

1 Corinthians 6: 18-20

"Avoid immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the immoral persons sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price, Therefore glorify God in your body."

Thank you for that pontification. Now do you have any support for your positions? What does the Bible say? The Pope? Or did God tell you directly?

How is Mc's scenario behaving immorally?

I believe it was Ben Franklin who said, "Masturbate freely!" (Or was that fart?)

Sin is more than just 'being naughty' - the Pauline understanding would seem to be that sin must involve exploitation of some kind directed against another person or at the indulgence of society: drunkenness, theft, fornication, slander, paedophilia, &c. Masturbation and autoeroticism - as acts in themselves - involve no such exploitation.

However, I believe that forbidding and punishing them would be very sinful, since that would be stunting and deforming a child's natural sexual growth for the sake of a perverse, wholly Pharisaical notion of 'purity'. As long as masturbation doesn't become an emotional crutch or an addiction, I can't imagine it as being sinful.
If I am capable of grasping God objectively, I do not believe, but precisely because I cannot do this I must believe.

I don't believe in sin, but if you are asking from a biblical perspective I never really understood why masturbating in any way was wrong. From a more general perspective of whether or not it's wrong, I agree with the already posted scientific findings that masturbation is not only a common practice (which I emphatically state does not make something right), but that it is a healthy and natural one. I also do not see a biblical basis for saying that mutual masturbation is unhealthy or sinful. I think the idea that it is sinful is more of a social construction or church tradition about sexual immorality than anything factual.

Oh I say, McCulloch.

Is there any justifiable reason why masturbation would be a sin? Or is this just another one of the ways god stops us from enjoying ourselves?

Everything in moderation. As long as it does not become an addiction, what is the harm?

'Pends on if she's ugly or not.

Wouldn't God dislike it even more if one masturbated with an ugly person in mind?
