Pat Robertson said, "If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him [democratically elected Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez] , I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. And I don't think any oil shipments will stop."
Suppose there is an internationally known mullah in the United States, who has a TV show watched every week by millions of faithful Muslims. He is as fundamentalist in his faith as Pat Robertson is in his and equally extreme in his politics. One day this mullah puts out a call on his TV show for Prime Minister Tony Blair to be assassinated. I have little doubt that this person would be branded a terrorist or someone inciting terrorism and arrested. By the definitions laid out by the United States, Robertson is calling for an act of international terrorism.
Given the preacher's ties to Bush's christian supporters, should legal action be taken against Pat Robertson? The Venezuelan government said, "This public call to assassinate a head of state, considered a crime by all modern legislation, is prosecutable by its very nature. That is what the civilized would is expecting of the U.S. authorities." Are the Venezuelans right?

You have not given any facts. Just your biased opinions and interpretations. Most of what you say is pure delusion on your part.I give you facts and you get upset and tell me to put up or shut up. I want you to go on and learn the truth.
I think you might have a sex problem. You seem to be obsessed.

Taxation proves the communism of the Left.
Fact.
Unless you speak out against evil, you are complicit. That is another Christian fact.
You still think that everything started by a bump in the dark. And that is not a sexual inuendo, just a point of fact that you cannot see the truth yet.
I am not being "arrogant" just accurate.
1Sa 2:3Always the same pathetic convoluted logic in a liberal mind.
"Do not boast or let arrogance come out of your mouth because the LORD is a God of knowledge, and he weighs our actions.

I see a pattern.
Nice bible verse. Seems appropriate to me.

On Clinton, America is embracing evil and Liberals are the leaders in that movement. Spin it all you want but Biblically, this country was founded by godless people and we are reaping what they sowed. And now men can "marry" men and women can "marry" women in Eastern States.
Next we will be told this is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles.
At least that is what good old Pat would say.

It seems to me there's a lot of news you don't hear because it is not in the interest of mega-corporations. But, I think there should be pressure on the CBN to take Robertson off the air. There should be pressure from his family. He's going to make more mistakes and say more inflamming things that could cause the CBN to pay heavy fines and possibly prison sentences. He should just sign off to what his followers see as a rewarding career.juliod wrote:But of course, that was before all stations became owned by a couple of giant mega-corporations that pour money into political campaigns. So they could put actual pressure on Robertson, but they won't. I mean there wasn't any partial nudity on his show.
I personally never liked the man. He rates one notch below Howard Stern in my book.

This is not a bad suggestion, IMO. I would find it encouraging if enough Christians protested to CBN so that they even seriously considered downplaying Robertson's role on the air. It seems to me a Christian Broadcasting Network should be about being fair, truthful, loving, of good integrity, etc., in addition to providing a place for discussion of Christian issues or larger issues from a Christian viewpoint. To the extent that Robertson does not meet these criteria, he is working against what should be (IMHO) the mission of the network.harvey1 wrote:But, I think there should be pressure on the CBN to take Robertson off the air. Of course, whether the mainstay audience of CBN would agree with this diagnosis is another question.

I think he owns The station CBN.
He just said what a lot of hawks think.
We need to be outraged but keep him in the open we don't need him working behind the scenes.

Ever heard a Taliban/Al Queda -supporting, Mosque-shouting Imam apologize? You know the ones on Arab TV being seen all over the Muslim (and Western) world demanding that Muslim's CONTINUE to kill non-believers?
Even in a convoluted way?
Just once?
The 700 Club has fed milions and millions of the poor and needy.
Islam does what? Their leaders say what?
Anyone posting on that?

My suggestion would be to start another thread.AlAYeti wrote:Ever heard a Taliban/Al Queda -supporting, Mosque-shouting Imam apologize? You know the ones on Arab TV being seen all over the Muslim (and Western) world demanding that Muslim's CONTINUE to kill non-believers?

This thread is about Robertson and his comments.
By the way, in my local paper today, even Cal Thomas raked Robertson over the coals. Said he should retire. This from one of THE most conservative Christian commentators in the country.
So, it isn't the leftist, liberal, demos who are jumping on Robertson, the conservatives are just as outraged (and in their case probably embarrassed too).

Your right, we should let it go and see how it turns out.
He has a health food hobby. He will retire in dignity.
I remember when they told us Ronald R, Reagan was senile and suffering from alzheimer's. We didn't really notice and it doesn't matter.

There are good Christians. There are bad Christians. There are good Muslims. There are bad Muslims.
